About this deal

That rainbow seems to be coming from a source outside the picture area, light just glancing across the front surface.

The styling is definitely more retro and for going on my fun camera I do unfortunately have to admit that actually matters lol. lens is an excellent bang for buck option to consider, as long as one is willing to work with it and enjoy it as it is, strengths and compromises in a package cheaper than a camera battery of some systems. The focus isn’t quite a grainy feeling as my copy of the 55mm, instead it somehow feels a bit rubbery, rather than silky, if that makes any sense at all? I have shot so much with that lens, that I actually wore my first one down, and is now on my second copy. Anyway, in terms of build quality, aside from the lens cap, it’s nice, no rattling, and not a lot of play in anything. Unfortunately, it’s only designed to be used on aps-c cameras, as such, that specification is a little less exciting than it would be if it was a full frame lens. At first I thought it was just because of the very narrow DOF that you have to deal with, but my Mitakon is even more narrow, and doesn’t have this trait. I put them in the gallery right here, but you can also download the full sized SOOC jpegs using the link HERE Voigtländer 35mm f/1. Another thing to consider between the Mk1 and Mk2 - the Mk1 only focuses down to 35cm, whereas the Mk2 (and also the TTartisan 35mm) focuses much closer at 28cm.Unlike most Fujinon autofocus lenses, the 9-blade rounded aperture produces very pleasant bokeh across all apertures, top that off with really nice micro-contrast and you have a very inexpensive lens that can pump out some really interesting images. Maybe it was a cleaning solution someone forgot to wipe off, or it was part of a lens coating, I’m not sure, but the lens was unharmed by whatever it was. Using this lens was an entirely new photographic experience for me - at least it feels that way, in the age of “auto-everything”. it has the nicer quality lens mount that doesn’t rotate quite as much on the mount at the 55mm lens does.
