About this deal

Apesar da evolução da relação, Charlie ainda é muito inseguro e tem uma recaída com a ida de Nick para a faculdade. The way that I fill in the gaps of their characters and personality traits in the graphic novel were not represented in this writing style. That said, its best to approach this without trying to overly compare it to the Heartstopper series. Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages. I remember being this age and people having theories on if it is better to just go into college with a clean slate or seeing couples break up almost immediately under the weight of distance dating, so this story felt like a good catalyst to test the relationship of a couple.

With some couples you just know that they are meant to be together forever and those two are like the epitome of this feeling!I really enjoy how much miscommunication and assumptions derail their stories, or anxieties growing worse seeing other friends break-up as this feels pretty true to life. As the time to say goodbye gets inevitably closer, both Nick and Charlie start to question whether their love is strong enough to survive being apart. A short novella based on the beloved characters from the graphic novel Heartstopper and Alice Oseman’s debut novel Solitaire, which was praised as ‘The Catcher in the Rye for the digital age’ by the Times. I loved seeing Charlie's side of the story a lot as we saw how his mental health got better with time, even though you can clearly still see him struggling with it through out the novella.

The book tells such a sweet story of innocent young love with all its shyness, embarrassment, humour and awkwardness and is incredibly relatable for anyone who is or ever has been a teenager with a crush. I do feel there were a few missed opportunities to explore the themes of the book in greater detail, and at certain points the dialogue felt a little weak, especially in high-tension scenes which could've benefitted from more interaction between characters.

Everyone’s asking if they’re staying together, which is a stupid question – they’re ‘Nick and Charlie’ for God’s sake! Tao and Elle are going through the exact same problem since Elle is also graduating and Tao has one more year left along with Charlie. Originally published as an eBook on July 16, 2015, by HarperCollins, it was re-published as a paperback with edits and illustrations on August 6, 2020 in the UK, and it was also published on January 3, 2023 in the US, by Scholastic Inc. I recommend this book because it’s real, it’s relatable, it shows that these two lovable characters have flaws and they’re still lovable.

A short novella based on the beloved characters from Alice Oseman's acclaimed debut novel Solitaire and graphic novel series Heartstopper - now a major Netflix series.lol* Seriously, to read “Nick and Charlie” was such a roller coaster and my emotional bandwidth went from happy to sad and depressed right smack back into slap happy and cosy territory! But also we are so used to these characters in graphic novel format where here we are much more inside their heads—Oseman rotates between both character’s perspectives every new chapter—so it is a fun way to revisit familiar friends in a new way. For those keeping track of the “Osemanverse” timeline, This Winter takes place on Christmas day in the middle of Heartstopper Volume Four, about one year after Heartstopper Volume One begins.

Solitaire is an extraordinary novel … [Oseman] has captured her characters’ rage, humour and insecurity with aplomb. I could go on and on, but no words will do justice to such extraordinary characters and their extraordinary love! They are one of my all time favourite ships and I just love the way Alice Oseman has developed it over the years. As someone the same age as themselves, it was odd to see how these characters considered them 'not like other teens', and frankly it was quite annoying. This means that a novella of 80 pages was turned into a novel with huge spacing and a large font plus a few pages of doodles and Heartstopper-style comic pages (which I loved, don't get me wrong). We take pride in offering a wide selection of used books, from classics to hidden gems, ensuring there’s something for every literary palate.
