About this deal

Inevitably, he ends up on a stone altar, the local knife-wielding high priest poised above him, ready to strike. De qualquer forma, é uma leitura rápida e vale a pena dar uma chance - tenho certeza de que muita gente vai gostar bem mais do que eu.

The Book of Dead Days was nominated for the Guardian Award, and was shortlisted for the Sheffield Book Award and the Edgar Allan Poe Award. It's a fascinating reminder that there's more than one kind of love and more than one way to express it. I think the largest issue I had with this book was its sparseness - it was both the best and the most problematic issue of the book.

And by way of these distinctive narratives we are startled to encounter characters we have already met in the earlier stories, characters who care, hate, most of all, two who love throughout eternity. this was COMPLETELY amazing and unforgettable - the kind of book that as soon as you finish it, you want to flip right back to the beginning and start again. It gives us a breather after the unnerving dream-like beginning, and roots us in the present day to move away from the dream state most of the novel is told in, which perhaps means it can't be as beautifully dark as the rest of the book.

Another awesome offering which emcompasses everything I have come to expect from a Marcus Sedgwick and well worth a look.

Then there are the apples which are mentioned once and never again, and apparently those cause happiness.

It's the first one I've read by Marcus Sedgwick, I've been putting off reading his other works after hearing them repeatedly described as "weird".
